Coal Harbour
Great scenes, walks and skates along the seawall to Stanley Park. Nestled amongst million dollar condos and boats, this is truly a beautiful space in Vancouver that has been manicured since the mid nineties.
Start off at the new Convention Centre on a bike, in-line skates or by foot, and stroll through Coal Harbour and wrap around into Stanley Park seawall loop. The Coal Harbour seawall has two lanes - one for bikes and in-line skaters, and the other for those that want to run or walk it. Unlike the Stanley Park seawall, this one is bi directional - so you can return back home. There is lots to check out on your way through Coal Harbour, including beautiful (and the most expensive) private boats in Vancouver, modern hotel, convention centre and condo architecture, float planes coming and going every few minutes, hot bodies, grassy spaces and funky fountains. The kids will love the run through fountain in summer. Things do get a bit dark and gray in winter, but you will have the place (more) to yourself. The city has also given the go ahead for some funky art work along the way - you won’t miss them! This is also a top destination for office runners at lunch time that are trying to brush up on their fitness in 45 minutes or less. If you haven’t run the wall during lunch, then give it a try. You can get to Coal Harbour by bus, walking, biking or car. There are several paid parking lots and there is plenty of paid street parking.
