Jericho Beach

A popular Vancouver beach with great views of the mountains and city. This is sailing paradise.

Jericho is adjacent to the Jericho Sailing Club and Jericho Tennis Club. It is one of Vancouver's sandier beaches and faces Northwards - making it a better afternoon beach in the summer if you are a sun worshiper. There are lots of logs to back up against and sun tan in the morning or afternoon. Swimming is OK at Jericho - it is one of the steeper beaches out that way (see Spanish Banks and Locarno - which are both further West).

Watch lots of sailing and windsurfing off the beach - the morning and afternoon winds can make for good conditions. You will also get a wonderful view of the North Shore mountains, the city and all the boats in the bay.

Jericho Beach also forms part of the beach front trail which spans from the East of Jericho to the West of Spanish Banks. Run, walk or bike the trail. Fitness enthusiasts will want to hit the path early morning or late afternoon before the crowds clog things up. Jericho is also a great place to catch a summer sunset and have a beach BBQ.
