Kitsilano Beach

Kitsilano BeachGirls and boys - this is the one if you are into busy beaches in summer. Nice beach, nice view and nice sexy bods. Bring your cool factor and volley ball.

Kits is the place to be a hot summer’s day - the locals won’t doubt it. Kits Beach is a nice stretch of sandy beach a few hundred feet long with enough grassy lawn to accommodate those that don’t fit on the sand. If you are seeking shade, there is plenty of that up on the grass. Things do get busy in summer months, so get there early. The scenery is top with views of the bay, mountains, Vancouver Island and more.

Swimming is decent and there are lifeguards on duty in summer. Bring your shades for checking out the sexy bods - it gets super hot. The one oddity about Kits is that it is east facing - so you may find yourself rotating like a chicken rotisserie if you are tanning. If you are into beach volley ball, then Kits is a good place to be … though you better know what you are doing if you want to join in. There is a short walking path along Kitsilano Beach which then wraps up to the Maritime Museum, through Vanier Park and then around to Granville Island. This path is good all year long, but can get windy in the winter months. You will find kids playgrounds and basket ball courts to keep the kids busy - these are located in the grassy lawns. Bring the Frisbee or soccer ball too.

There is food available at the concession and beach restaurants, or you can take a stroll across the street and find something.

You can get to Kitsilano Beach on foot, bike, bus, or car - it is very accessible. Parking gets tight - so get there early. If you live in the area, biking or walking is best. If you are located Downtown, then take the Burrard Bridge.
