Lighthouse Park
Awesome Canada so close to Vancouver. Located in West Vancouver, Lighthouse Park has great walks, hikes, trail runs and viewing. Take a picnic and sit on a rock overlooking the bay.
Strap on your hiking shoes and load the family and dogs into the car for some exercise around Lighthouse Park. Nestled amongst old growth and surround by multi million dollar West Vancouver homes, Lighthouse Park has become a darling for a quick “power hike” on a weekend. The park is loaded with trails - some steep and narrow, some gentle and wide. You can grab a map once you have parked and decide which way you want to go. Most loops can be done in an hour or less. There are plenty of scenic and sunny spots along the water where you may want to spend some extra time doing the relaxation thing. Lighthouse Park is also a favourite for trail runners. You will find them hopping and running throughout the park. If you are into trail running, definitely give this one a try - it is quite breathtaking having a stretch down on the rocks early morning in summer. Plug some rock into your ears to keep the adrenaline pumping. You can access Lighthouse Park by bus or car. Parking is still free and you should be fine finding something if you get there early enough. You should have no problem in the colder months. Biking is not permitted in the park … though they do have lockup racks if you are feeling brazen. BBQs and fires are not permitted in Lighthouse Park.
