Located between Spanish Banks Beach (West) and Jericho Beach (East), Locarno is popular with the sun tanning and volley ball enthusiasts. Locarno faces North and picks up a good afternoon sun. There are plenty of picnic benches and grassy spaces at the beach - so you should be able to find what you are looking for. Things do get busy - so do get there early and pick out your space. Locarno provides great views of the North Shore mountains, city and bay. You can catch a good evening sunset in Summer - this makes it an ideal place for a summer BBQ. Locarno is along the way of the shore line trail system from Jericho (East) to Spanish Banks (West). The trail is a great path for running, walking and biking. It is compacted dirt - so don't try roller blading.
