Lynn Canyon Suspension Bridge
Vancouver's free suspension bridge located in Lynn Canyon Park. Check out the twin falls, 30 foot pool and pipe bridge. This is Canada close to Vancouver.
Lynn Canyon and its suspension bridge is a real gem for North Vancouver - you would hardly believe the city is less than 15 minutes away by car. This freebie competes with the Capilano Suspension Bridget (further West on Capilano Road) - both are good, but one is free … so lets talk about that one. You will want to drive to the suspension bridge - there is plenty of parking (though it can get busy in the heart of summer). Buses are also an option. You can probably bike there if you live in Lynn Canyon vicinity. The bridge itself is 50 meters high and stretches across a beautiful canyon. Check out the raging waters and waterfalls below. Crossing the bridge is also fun - consider not bouncing around as you may get some dirty looks from others. There are a few trails that you can take on the other side of the bridge - these will take you down to the pools and the popular swimming holes for the locals. Now don’t go jumping off the cliffs or waterfalls - that is just plain silly and many have met their maker doing just that. Bring your camera of course. You can also give the bridge a whirl in the winter months - you may find it quite different with the water colouring and different light. If you want some thunder, try it after a few days of heavy rainfall!
