Queen Elizabeth Park
Vancouver's horticultural jewel and second most visited park after Stanley Park. Beautifully planted gardens - just perfect for a tranquil walk or family picnic.
This one is well worth a visit in the warmer months - Queen Elizabeth Park really is quite beautiful. The seasonally changing and beautifully planted quarry gardens astound residents and tourists alike as viewed from the park's upper reaches or from the bottom looking up. Expertly positioned, select ornamental trees and shrubs make this a must see. Consider a picnic lunch in summer and spreading out underneath a tree. Or plug some classical music into your ears and take a relaxing stroll around the grounds. The park sits on a hill south of Downtown Vancouver - about 10 minutes drive over the Cambie Bridge and down Cambie Street. You can get to the Queen Elizabeth Park by bus, car, bike or on foot. The Sky Train can also get you within walking distance.
