Stearman Beach

A rocky beach amongst some expensive beachfront homes in West Vancouver. Walk East and wade through the river to go further. Great views of English Bay.

Nestled amongst million dollar homes in West Vancouver, Stearman is a rocky and pebbled beach familiar to West Vancouverites. You will find a handful of small sandy spaces, but you are probably better off with deck chairs. The swimming is not very good at Stearman because of the kelp that gets caught in the cove. Check the tide tables - high tide provides a better visit, but also limited beach. If you have a kayak or small boat, Stearman provides a great sheltered space for some paddling.

There are a few creaks and rivers flowing onto the beach which kids tend to love exploring. If you can cross the river, there is more beach to the East to explore. The beach is south facing - so good for morning sun. Parking is limited to a handful of cars. Take your portable BBQ for a summer picnic on the beach.
